The Elephant in the Room

Not being able to talk

is an issue worth talking about.

For both personal and societal reasons.

Everyone feels it. And most feel helpless to do anything about it. Spark a dialogue on how polarization affects our lives, and new ways to view and approach “others.”

START A CONVERSATION

The Elephant in the Room gets people talking – about how polarization affects their personal lives, families, society and the world. And about what can be done to lean into understanding “those other people” in a more productive and healthy way.

Explore the prompts in our Discussion Guide – with multiple-answer conversation starters about the characters in the film and the challenges of accepting and communicating with people of differing views, encouraging viewers at screening events to think through what they saw and apply it to their own lives.

Take things further with Post-screening Activities — our Discussion Guide includes 7 informal interactive small-group activities, from lighter to more serious, ranging from 10 to 75 minutes in length. Get audience members at your screening talking with each other and your moderators with fun thought-provoking exercises from organizations like More in Common and the Listen First Project.
